April 22 – Marinella di Selinunte, in Camping Athena.

After a sleep-in and a delicious breakfast of boiled potatoes (with garlic, oregano and green beans left from last night) followed by bread and bananas - for those on the 'starvation' diet, we headed off to the parco archaelogico on our unloaded bikes, and walked and rolled around enjoying the vast, lovely and interesting site. Ancient temples and ruins softened by a sea of yellow, purple and white wild-flowers.

After a picnic of bread and bananas, the starvation diet continued at the nearby cafe with cannoli filled with a sumptuous, sweet , lemon ricotta – recommended by nine out of ten gastroenterologists.

  1. Hey Gail - was a bit traumatized trying to work out how to join this blog thing. Anyway with help of our techs i seemed to know what to do.

We're thoroughly enjoying your blog and following your progress on a map so i know exactly where you are.

It sounds like a very successful trip so far. How lucky you both are.

Do you still have access to your email Gail as i could send you an email as well??

    Keep adding the photos too.

  3. Hi Gail and Phil,
Cec and Helen here!We have had a lovely evening reading your blog and are enjoying the photo's - especially Gail eating a big, fat cake!
Helen says: she has been quite busy. Had a great time at soccer camp at Lancefield and got a medal. Started using diabetics thingo - we started off well, had a bit of a hitch, but are going to start again tonight! Am continuing to give Finn and Charlie lots of kisses and cuddles - they are going well and still enjoying their walks. We'll check on you again next week.
    Love Helen and Cec
